General Labor

Jamestown ND

 

Pipe Detectives is seeking a Laborer/Technician to work from our shop based in Jamestown ND.

  • No experience, except motivation, is required.
  • Year-round work is possible.
  • Overtime available.
  • Applicants with experience in the water/wastewater industry or cement/mortars/grouts and CDL drivers encouraged to apply.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual labor using a variety of powerful industrial equipment including high pressure jetter trucks, vacuum trucks, cement/epoxy & grout mixers/sprayers, and pipeline video inspection equipment.
  • Works in diverse environments including confined spaces.
  • Assures equipment, appropriate tools, personal protective equipment, and materials are available and used in accordance with standards established by OSHA and the Company.


Requirements: 

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must possess a Valid US Driver's License.
  • Pre-employment Drug Screen, CDL Drug Screen.
  • Overnight travel is required.
  • Must be able to work extended shifts.
  • Must be insurable with the Company’s insurance carrier (good driving record).


Physical Requirements:

  • Working outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Regularly exposed to environments involving equipment, confined spaces, noise, dust, hazardous materials, and odors.
  • Lift/move up to 75 pounds frequently, frequently perform tasks requiring climbing, crawling, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, and gripping.

Equipment Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the requirements of their assigned equipment and machinery to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
  • Provide the details accurately and timely on all daily reports.
  • Delegate and coordinate the activities of general labor employee(s) to ensure the effective and efficient operation of their assigned equipment.
  • Report all safety, or operational non-conformance to the Foreman as they occur.
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met.
  • Provide general service to the equipment and tools as required for proper maintenance and care. Alert Foreman of any service outside the scope of their training or ability to perform.
  • Resolve and communicate to the Foreman any problems as they arise.
  • Submit daily reports as required to the Foreman.
  • Train General Labor employees on the use and backup of the equipment.


Requirements and skills:

  • Proven experience in Construction/Field.
  • In-depth knowledge of procedures, equipment, and OSH guidelines.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems as they apply to the equipment.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
  • Ability to obtain an employer-paid CDL within 6 months of employment.
  • Good physical condition and stamina.
  • High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter, etc.).
  • Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time.
  • Effective Communication Skills.

Field Foreman

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans for operators and general laborers
  • Ability to coordinate and report for multiple locations based on crew assignments
  • Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Supervise and train (and track) workers and tradespeople
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
  • Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Monitor project budget, where applicable to assure it meets expectations
  • Resolve problems when they arise
  • Report on progress to client managers, engineers etc.
  • Approve and submit daily reports as required. Assure accuracy prior to submission through appropriate employee follow up and adjustment as necessary.
  • Document incidents and other work-related non-conformances to direct supervisor
  • Coordinate all third part maintenance service following the company guidelines and reporting
  • Responsible for crew and equipment selection for upcoming projects.



Requirements and skills:

  • Proven experience as Construction/Field foreman
  • In-depth knowledge of procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively
  • Aptitude in math
  • Problem-solving abilities
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
  • Experience in leadership, confidentiality, and providing instruction necessary.
  • Ability to travel and be away from home for extended periods of time
